The 2 end Jack Rafters are slightly different length to commons because the Ridge and Rafter thickness are not the same.
If the Ridge and Rafter thickness are identical, the 2 end jack rafters are the same as commons.
Use rafter template for end jacks and adjust length and birds-mouth cut to suit.

Running Batten setout points: (from lower end of rafter up) 
All running measurements are 'and on', from start point to near side of rafter.

Running Hip:
Start hip run at top edge of hip side cut (after it's cut), not end point - See Hip Detail Below.
Check all spacings and squaring before fixing!
