Orthogonal wall is at right angles to connected adjacent walls. The end studs are set in the width of adjacent wall studs, and sheeting extends to cover adjacent wall ends and meet at external corner.

With Gap, the second stud is adjusted to start 1 stud width in from wall end.
This will align studs so orthogonal (at right angles) wall studs meet to form internal corners.

Californian Corner has second stud on edge (at inside of wall) to form internal corner and allow space for insulation at wall ends.
