Select Lapped in Paling Gap / Lap to calculate palings overlapped, and draw a paling overlap diagram showing spacing.
Paling Lap is calculated at nearest over or equal to 0.25 x paling width, to fit full palings. (no end cuts).

For a single stand alone fence with 2 ends, and no end corners, select No Corners. If 1 end of the fence returns (has a corner) select 1 End Corner.
If both ends return, select 2 End Corners. With corners, the first post is adjusted in equal to the thickness of the rail. See the diagram above for details.

The first rail (left side diagram) starts outside the centre of the first post.
If you select Adjust One End and Adjust 1st Centre the first centre (space between posts 1 and 2) is adjusted smaller so a rail at length 2 times centres will span the first 3 posts.
E.g. if you use 4800 Rail Length and 2400 Post Centres, the adjustment closes the first post spacing so the 3rd post centre is at 4800. 1 x 4800 rail will span the first 2 openings.
Enter Fence Length, Post Centres and Post Width to re-draw diagram showing post spacing.
Select Adjust One End to keep all spacings as entered and adjust the last space to suit.
If last space is small, or you want each end space to be equal, select Adjust Both Ends to divide the 2 end spaces evenly.
To calculate all centres evenly, at or nearest under entered spacing, select Adjust All Centres.
Adjust scale of diagrams to measure 100% scale on screen with a ruler.
