Measure Roof Pitch and Angle with 2 Levels or Lay Phone Directly on Slope to Measure and Speak Angle
Hold spirit levels plumb and level.
Measure and mark length on horizontal level to vertical level. Then mark height on vertical level to roof surface, remove levels and measure marked height.
Enter ↔ Length and ↕ Height measurements and hit Calculate to find roof pitch and angle.
Drag the slider to animate, or with phone or tablet, measure directly from roof surface.

Pitch / Angle
Visit this calculator with Tablet or Phone and lay your device on an angle (the roof) to directly measure Pitch and Angle, and speak results.
Pitch and Angle are two related concepts in geometry and physics.
Pitch is the measure of how steep or flat a surface is, such as a roof or a ramp.
Angle is the measure of how much a line or a plane is rotated from a reference direction, such as the horizontal or the vertical.
One way to compare pitch and angle is to use the ratio of rise to run, which is the vertical distance divided by the horizontal distance of a slope.
For example, a roof that rises 4 units for every 12 units of horizontal length has a pitch of 4 in 12, or 4:12.
The angle of this roof is the angle between the roof and the horizontal plane.
In this case, the angle is about 18.43°.
Another way to compare pitch and angle is to use the percentage of Grade, which is the rise divided by the level horizontal length of a slope.
For example, a ramp that rises 3 units for every 5 units of level horizontal length has a grade of 60%. 3 / 5 = 0.6, then multiply by 100 = 60%.
The angle of this ramp is the angle between the ramp and the horizontal plane.
In this case, the angle is about 36.87 degrees. Grade percentage can also be calculated by: tan(angle) x 100.

If you're cutting blocks, concrete, stone or ANYTHING and there's DUST - DON'T TAKE THE RISK
Don't cut it, or cut it wet so there's NO DUST - Silicosis Sucks
And if you're cutting wet, wear a mask - there's dust in the spray mist too!

What do we think? - They're 2 different things:
A Meter is a device to measure things - like a Volt Meter or a Parking Meter
A Metre is about 3'-3~3/8"
Although diameter and perimeter as measurements - don't seem to fit very well
If the U.S. ever goes Metric, you'll be able to use a Meter to measure Meters - A Meter Meter
(And when we go back to the moon to Mars, this time, let's go Metric, ay?)
GO Artemis II !! (thats 2, not eleven - and Artemis is Metric, not Imperial, no matter what they say)
